Wild Women book

I received my copy of Sarah Lawrence's new book today. It is a very inspiring little book. There are patterns and intructions for 20 brooches, from simple to quite extravagant. Embroidered, beaded, embellished and collaged.
You can follow the instructions to the letter or use these as a starting point. The book is an in-expensive £4.99, very well worth the cost, I think some of these little ladies will be appearing on the blog in the near future.

Earthquake

I was sitting in bed reading my book. There was a bit of a rumble and then the house started to shake, the rumble became a roar and things started rattling and falling off shelves. Then it was all over. B wandered in and said "did the earth move?"

So boring old Lincolnshire (the most boring and uninteresting place on earth - which is precisely why I like living here) had a bit of excitement. The t.v. news was full of it until something more interesting happened - didn't take long :)

Postcard

This is the postcard I have been working on for Susan's swap. I can't make my mind up if this is finished, have I intergrated the fishy thing into the background?

Clicking on the picture will bring a much magnifed image showing the stitching and stuff

Green Atc

This is the atc I plan to send to Susan. Worried that it isn't good enough. Dithered over adding embellishments, glass leaves et al. Decided to leave it as it is.
The background is made from tiny scraps of fabric, bonded to a fabric base then machine stitched with the built-in patterns/ The tree trunks are multiple strands of yarn. If you click on the picture you will be able to see it magnified.

International exchange of textile atc and postcards

http://cyberfyberexhibitiontrading.blogspot.com/
Susan Lenz is organising an exhibition and wants to include atc's and postcards from anyone and everywhere. Susan has made over one hundred of each and is offering one of hers in exchange for one of yours.
It is easy to take part, just go to the blog read her instructions. It is a fantastic offer to chose the one you want to receive.
I have already bagged mine
