recycled shorts into bag

I found this fantastic easy to understand tutorial on how to turn a pair of shorts into a handy bag. If anyone has visits from me, they need to watch their wardrobe as I am on the lookout for a pair ;)

nuno felt

I haven't had a lot of success making nuno felt that looks good.  Felting and Fiber studio has an offer of a free ebook, I shall be reading it with great interest.  And dream of making felt as good as hers ;)

brooch or decoration for a bag?

I spent a happy couple of hours making these today.  A few scraps of fabric, some net and free machine embroidery.

I made this bag before I was ill, but it needed finishing and I did this today too.

I enjoyed doing the embroidery on this too.  The bag was made from the back of one leg of an old pair of jeans.  The strip was made from tiny scraps of fabrc and the button was made from pine nut (I think) and  came from South America.

This is another project from before that I finished yesterday.  I am definately enjoying the fme-ing at the moment :)

Spring is round the corner

or so I hope.
Anyway you can stop feeling sorry for me as I am almost back to normal and managed to make a bag this weekend,  not so happy with the finishing so will make another asap.

If the weather would just stop being so miserable.....

lost weeks

I have been sick.  Really sick, almost three weeks in bed with the virus from hell.  Now I am up and getting better but my legs keep wobbling.

Not the easy way to lose weight btw.

Exciting news

Well, it is exciting for me anyway.  I have managed to persuade the lovely ladies at stitchcraftstudio to allow me to tutor some quick and easy classes.  I will be teaching at some of the 'Fun Friday' sessions.  First one is this Friday and is already full.   Yeh (imagine a little hop and skip).

If you haven't heard of Stitchcraft, they are based in Grantham, Lincolnshire and have a shop, cafe and workshops.  Everyone is welcome, good quality advice is given freely, without pressure to buy anything.  But they have such a huge selection of fabric and stuff that is is almost impossible to walk out without a little something :)

Wish me luck

Edited to add that the class went really well, everyone worked hard and we produced 9 great baggies.  I have a photo but it is on my phone and I can't find the cable, but Julie has posted a great pic here
