Lutradur landscape

Last weekend I was lucky enough to attend a one day workshop with Pam Watts, using Lutradur. We made landscapes but mine was absolute rubbish - I wasn't feeling brilliant but didn't want to miss the day. I threw it in the bin as soon as I got home.
I had another go using Pams idea, and made this piece. A little tweaking and I think it will do.
I transfer printed the lutradur, green on one side and blue on the other. Free machine stitched using the gorgeous Oliver Twist cotton threads. Where the lutradur has been distressed, a little of the blue shows through. I can recomend transfer printing, works very well on this cloth.
If you click on the photo you will get a closer look at the texture.

I love this. did you stitch it onto WS fabric to make the lacy fringe? it's gorgeous. how big, please?

The piece is 3" wide and 4 1/" high including the fringing. I used heat dispersable fabric (thermogaze) to stitch the fringe. Cold water disolvable fabric would have worked too.

This looks really good. Haven't played much with Lutradur - it's on my list :)
I'm always rubbish at workshops regardless how I feel - work much better on my own, can make as much of a mess as I want then and just show the best bits *LOL*

wow - that's a fabulous piece of work, I love the texture to it and the colours. I have my delivery of lutradur but have not tried it yet. I'm intrigued by the transfer of colours and how you did it.

I painted simple copy paper with disperse dye, (from Kemtex in the uk, Dharma trading have them in the US)just splodged it on any old way. Once the paper was dry, I ironed it onto the lutradur. This piece had green on one side and blue on the other. After I stitched the piece of lutradur, I zapped it with the heat gun. The edges where the holes are curl and the blue shows. If you click on the pic you will see an enlargement and should be able to see the blue. hth
